God is the Creator and Ruler of the Universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary by miraculous conception, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of us all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days demonstrating His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory where He is the only Mediator between God and people, and will return to earth. He will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides supernatural power for living, understanding spiritual truth and guidance to follow God’s will and plan for our lives. The Christian should seek to live under His direction and influence every day.
Salvation is a gift from God to all people. Men and women can never make up for their sins by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can a person be saved from sins penalty. Those desiring to follow Christ respond to Him by repenting of their sin, confessing Christ, and being immersed.
The Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is God’s Word to us. The Scriptures were written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is inspired by God and is the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
People were created to live forever. We will either live eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
Human being are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
