A Political Theology

Today, we turn to the subject of politics. And there may be no other subject in our day that is more divisive than this one. So what we’re going to do—led by the Holy Spirit—is to formulate a political theology. What does that mean? It means that we’re going to look at Scripture to see what God thinks about politics and what our relationship should be to the political world. And then we’re going to turn to what this means for us practically as Christians who live in the United States of America.

Scripture References: Genesis 8:21-2, 1 Peter 2:11-12, Philippians 3:20, Romans 13:1-7, Jeremiah 29:4-9, Genesis 9:17, Genesis 9:1-7

Sexuality. Politics. Deconstruction. Race. Science. Gender. These are triggering topics. They can turn a family dinner into a battlezone. A friendly coffee meeting into an angry debate. But these aren’t just triggering topics. They’re important topics. And that just may be why they are so triggering. For a long time, the Church has been unwilling to talk about a lot of these topics. But that doesn’t change the fact that Christians of all ages are wrestling with them. In this new series called, Triggered, our goal is for every Christian to be equipped to think biblically, to converse graciously and truthfully, and to live Christ-centered lives in all of these areas.
